    Tee Boxes

Every hole on the golf course will have at least 3 separate tee boxes, all positioned at various distances from the putting green. The closest is typically marked with a red tee marker.

Each tee box will have a marker on the side, and is typically 10 yards apart. The length of a tee box is approximately 9 feet, or the length of 2 clubs.

The reason why a tee box is such a large area is so that you have the benefit of teeing up in different locations based on what type of shot you would like to make. When making your shot, you have to tee up your ball anywhere inside the 10 yard X 9 foot location.

According to the official golf rules, it is not necessary to stand inside of the tee box itself. Your feet are allowed to be outside of this area so long as the ball remains inside.

Easy Ways To Relieve Tension On The Golf Course

    By Foursome

When playing golf it is easy to sense when you start to lose your tempo. Your golf swing feels quick and jerky rather than slow and fluid. You become aware of the fundamental disconnect between your upper and lower body and maybe between your hands and arms.

If you lose your tempo, you’ve lost your focus and, as it slips away, you get more fearful. With increasing fear comes rising tension levels. The more you think about it and the more you fight and struggle with your golf game, the higher your tension and anxiety levels rise. You stand over every shot and think:

“Can I hit this one correctly? Will I hit this putt too far past the hole? Don’t leave this short of the green! I’m about to hit this shot in the bunker… again! Could I possibly miss this one foot putt? Why is this happening?”The Answer To Your Problems

You need to get rid of your tension level. You need to get rid of your anxiety. You need your groove back!

First, start breathing. Take big, deep breaths that go all the way down to your diaphragm. The more oxygen that comes into your body, the more your heart rate begins to go down.

Next, get in some fake yawns.

Look at some of the greatest Olympic sprinters and track athletes. When they get ready to run, just before the 100-yard dash or the 400-meter hurdles, they seem relaxed because they start taking big yawns. You may think those athletes are about to fall asleep! But the truth is that they become tense and want to get some air by using this simple trick.

    Anxiety From Overanalyzing The Game

Golf games often go astray during a round because players get too focused on the conscious part of the swing. You need to stay focused on playing in the subconscious. Smell the flowers, hear the music, and calm down.

Stop over-thinking every situation you encounter. Avoid over-examining your swing. Just trust your stroke and all of the hard work you have put into your practice. Aim for your target and simply swing away. In other words…. just play golf!

Deciding to fix a flaw in your swing or experiment with a new grip has no business being done in the middle of a round. Just let it flow. Focus on your target. Talk with your playing group. Just do anything that can help stop you from overanalyzing your swing or breaking it down into small sections. Remember, it’s just a game. Keep that fact in your mind and you will always relax and be a better player for it.
